This Privacy Policy covers the information we collect from you when you visit any of our gift card websites (GiftCardDonor.com, GiftCardsAgain.com, or GiftCardBuyBack.com), how we use your information, and under what circumstances we disclose it.  By visiting GiftCardDonor.com, GiftCardsAgain.com or GiftCardBuyBack.com, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy.  Gift Card Donor, Gift Cards Again, and Gift Card Buy Back comprise one company that accepts donated gift cards from consumers to charities, buys gift cards directly from consumers, and sells gift cards to consumers.  These sites share a common customer database and are referred to collectively as the “Gift Card Sites” for the remainder of this Privacy Policy, except where the policy only applies to an individual site.

What Information We Collect

When you use the Gift Card Sites, we receive and collect certain information that depends on what you do when you visit the Gift Card Sites.

• Information You Actively Submit to the Gift Card Sites:  When you create or update an account and complete an order we collect your information as follows:
  • When you create a new password-protected Gift Card Sites account to complete an order we require that you provide us the following information: your email address, your first and last name, your shipping address and for Gift Cards Again your billing address.  We also request your phone number (though not required) for order related communication if email fails.  You will also have to create a password, select a security question and input a security answer.
  • When you complete an order to buy gift cards on Gift Cards Again, we require you to access your password protected Gift Card Sites account to ensure your information is still current.  You will also be asked to submit your credit card number and other related account information to our third-party financial institution to verify the credit card numbers and process your transaction.
  • To evaluate and improve our marketing efforts, we may ask customers to voluntarily complete a survey at the end of their Gift Card Site order.
• Information Collected via Cookies:  The Gift Card Sites use a browser feature known as a cookie, which is placed on your computer, to deliver a better and more personalized experience to you.  The cookies are stored on your computer’s hard drive and are used by the Gift Card Sites to help track your clicks and pass information as you go through the pages within the Gift Card Sites.  In addition, the Gift Card Sites use cookies to help keep track of how many items you put into your shopping cart (MyCards) and to tell us whether you have previously visited the Gift Card Sites.  If you register or purchase gift cards through the Gift Card Sites, navigational information from previous browsing visits may be associated with the personal information you provide.  Note: If you turn off cookie placement on your browser, you will not be able to create a MyCards shopping cart on the Gift Card Sites and therefore will not be able to complete an order with us online.
• General Browsing:  The Gift Card Sites gather navigational, non-personally identifiable information (i.e. domain name, browser type, operating system, service provider, IP address, entry page, exit page and average time on the website).  We use this information to monitor the usage of our site, improve our customers’ search and shopping experiences, and to determine aggregate information about our users and usage patterns.

How we use and share Customer Information
 
The Gift Card Sites may share customer information that we collect as follows:

• Our companion sites: GiftCardDonor.com, GiftCardsAgain.com, and GiftCardBuyBack.com are companion sites of the same company that share a common database.  Your information is consistently safeguarded on all three sites according to the policies outlined in this privacy notice.  Your Gift Cards Site account can be accessed and updated from any of the sites.
• Credit card companies: Credit card transactions on Gift Cards Again are handled by a third-party credit card vendor that receives the credit card number and other personal identifying information only to verify the numbers and process transactions.
• Gift card companies listed on the Gift Card Sites:  We may share personal information of our customers with the gift card companies listed on the Gift Card Sites so these companies can promote special offers, products and services to our common customers (to the extent permitted by law).  We may also share the results of your surveys with these companies.  You can opt out from our use of your information in this way at any time by completing our Privacy Opt-Out page.  Please refer to the gift card companies’ privacy policies directly if you would like to opt-out from their communications.
• Charitable Organizations listed on Gift Card Donor and Gift Cards Again:  We may share personal information of our gift card donors with the charitable organizations listed on the Gift Card Sites so these charities can provide newsletters about their causes, promote special events, offers and services to our common customers (to the extent permitted by law).  We may also share the results of your surveys with these charities.  You can opt out from our use of your information in this way at any time by completing our Privacy Opt-Out page.  Please refer to the charitable organizations’ privacy policies directly if you would like to opt-out from their communications.
• Other Reputable Third Parties:  From time to time we may share customer information of our account holders with trustworthy third parties so they can promote their products and services.  You can opt out from our disclosure of your information for this purpose at any time by completing our Privacy Opt-Out page.

We also send customer information to certain third-parties that work on our behalf or we contract with to provide certain services.  These parties are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of the customer information and are restricted from using such information in any way not expressly authorized by the Gift Card Sites.

• Law Enforcement Inquiries:  You should be aware that we may disclose specific information about you if necessary to do so by law or based on our good faith belief that it is necessary to conform or comply with the law or is necessary to protect the users of our Web site, the site, or the public.

Communications from the Gift Card Sites
 
You may receive the following communications from the Gift Cards Sites:

• Orders and account policy changes: When you create a Gift Cards Sites account, you may receive communications from us related to: orders (confirmation, problem resolution, or updates) and material changes to account or site policies.  You can keep your information accurate and up-to-date by logging on to your account (accessed through MyAccount at the bottom of any page).
• Communication from the Gift Card Sites:  We may use your Gift Card Sites account information to communicate special offers, newly listed gift card companies, newly listed charities, events, and new services via email and postal mail.  You can opt-out from receiving any such communication by completing our Privacy Opt-Out page.

Children

The Gift Card Sites do not buy gift cards or accept donated gift cards from children, nor sell products for purchase and sale by children.  We buy gift cards, accept donated gift cards and sell products only for purchase by adults.  If you are under 18, you may use the Gift Card Sites only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Security on the Gift Card Sites

The Gift Card Sites take the following types of security measures: use of technologies and policies such as firewall technology, secure socket layer (SSL) certificate authentication and limitations of administrative access to our systems.  In addition, it is our policy not to send your full credit card or gift card number via email.  In fact, this is a practice we recommend you adopt in all of your Internet activities.

While we implement the above security measures on this site, you should be aware that 100% security is not always possible.

Changes to Privacy Policy
 
The Gift Card Sites reserve the right to change, modify or amend this policy at any time by posting the revised Privacy Policy on our sites.  The changes will only affect the information we collect after the effective date of the change to our Privacy Policy unless we clearly express otherwise.  The changes made in this October 17, 2007 version affects all information we have collected prior to such date.
